This post was a Tide Spin post. Tide Spin has now merged with Pressbox to create Tide Cleaners.
Ten years ago, in response to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Tide® created Loads of Hope: a mobile laundromat developed to restore a sense of normalcy and dignity through the basic comfort of clean clothing for those in the midst of a crisis. Since that time, Tide has helped renew hope for nearly 45,000 families across the country affected by natural disasters, from tornadoes in Missouri to flooding in South Carolina.
This week, in partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries, Tide’s Loads of Hope trucks were deployed to the Houston area to help Hurricane Harvey victims who are dealing with the aftermath of one of the worst flooding events in U.S. history.
Today, Tide Spin®, Tide’s local on-demand laundry and dry cleaning delivery service announced that it will support the relief efforts with a clothing drive for Harvey victims. Throughout the month of September, Tide Spin will pick up clothing donations from anyone in its service area, clean, fold, and ship the clothing to those Houston area families that need it most.
“Our team has been shocked by videos of the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey,” said David VanHimbergen, CEO of Tide Spin. “We felt compelled to do whatever we could to help victims rebuild their lives. Through Tide’s Loads of Hope program, we know that providing the hope of clean clothing for those in need requires more than just washing the clothing on their backs. In many cases, additional donated clothing truly helps people make a fresh start. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those that have been affected.”
To participate in the clothing drive, simply download the Tide Spin app, create a profile, and request a pickup using the promotional code “HOPE.” Tide Spin’s fleet of vans will then pick up your bag of clothes designated for donation and ensure the freshly cleaned clothes are delivered to those in need.
